Let’s be honest, when you’re at someone’s house and they have a picture album coffee table book, our first instinct is to flip through it. Printing a photo album is the best way to show off your beautiful photos to your friends without blowing up your Instagram feed with them! You may not think about the importance of having your wedding photos printed when you’ll just be posting them on social media anyway, but down the road you will be glad to have high quality printed photos.

If you’re on the fence about printing your wedding photos, here are a few reasons why you should have your wedding images printed professionally. And, it might not be too late to still have them printed, even if you got married a while ago! Do it now while you can! 

1. They will stand the test of time.

If you have them saved digitally on a disc or USB, plus have hard copies, they will serve as family heirlooms for generations to come. If one method gets lost or ruined, at least you have the other, and family heirlooms and important family photos can be kept somewhere safe and easily accessible incase there is ever a fire. If you only have them saved on a disc, what are the chances you will be able to find that disc in case of an emergency, and if they’re just saved on your computer, losing or breaking your laptop can happen at literally any time. 

2. They make you happy! 

Having them printed out and around your house will constantly remind you and your family of your wedding day and hopefully will make you smile every time you see them!

3. A wedding album tells  a story and is a great conversation starter.

If you keep your wedding photo album on your coffee table or somewhere near where guests gather around, it’s only natural that they would flip through it and be able to appreciate all your beautiful photos! Plus, having it all in a book allows you to relive the day starting with getting ready all the way through the reception. 

4. Social media platforms don’t last forever.

Just like MySpace came and went, Instagram and Facebook will likely not be as relevant anymore at some point in the future. And, social media platforms could shut down at literally any moment and you could lose everything you had posted over the years. However, printed photos are yours and only yours, and no one can ever take that away from you. 

5. You and your children and grandchildren can look back on them forever. 

Imagine looking through your wedding album on each anniversary, and with your family on special occasions and holidays. Having them printed isn’t just for you, but also for your children and grandchildren and future generations. It’s so special to me to come across old photos of my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles on their wedding day.

Whether you ultimately decide to make a photo album, print your photos and hang them throughout your house, or just have printed copies in a safe place in your home, I highly recommend getting them professionally printed by your photographer sooner rather than later!
