Winter Engagement Photos in Chicago

Karen & Sam are both active military personnel, Karen is in the Air Force and is currently stationed in Honduras and Sam is a Helicopter Pilot in the Army stationed in Colorado Springs. When they reached out to me to photograph their engagement session here in Chicago, it was one of the two times they would be able to see each other before their wedding. How crazy is that?! Imagine planning a wedding together in diffrent countries and only seeing your fiancé twice before tying the knot! These two handle the distance with such grace though. I truly felt so lucky to witness the love Karen & Sam share with the little amount of time they had to spend together in Chicago.

We wanted to show off the beautiful city they are getting married in for their engagement photos so for some more unique views of chicago we shot part of their engagement session at Grant Park!

We then went to Beatnik in West Town for a beautiful boho tropical aesthetic and to warm up from the cold Chicago winter! Beatnik made the perfect backdrop to add so much variety to Karen and Sam’s photo gallery!

I cannot wait to see these two reunite and capture their wedding this upcoming spring of 2021!
